Former NEURAXIS Bassist Explains His Departure
July 13, 2009Former NEURAXIS bassist Yan Thiel has released the following statement regarding his departure from the group:
"NEURAXIS has been an extremely important part of my life. I have been given the opportunity to live many amazing experiences throughout the years. I have had the chance to be part of six albums, travel North America, Europe, and Japan. Along the way I have met friends I will keep for a lifetime.
"I am extremely proud to see the band I helped start at the age of sixteen reach the success it has. Due to reasons in my personal and professional lives, I have not been able to commit to the band as much as I wish I could. Nagging injuries and professional obligations have forced me to sit out the last few tours and with things going the way they are for NEURAXIS, it is time to step down and let someone who can give it their all take my place.
"I wish Rob, Will and Alex the best of luck even though I do not think they need it in the least.
"I would like to thank my friends and family for the years of support when on tour or in the studios, and most of all my bandmates, past and present, for fifteen of the best years a musician could ask for.
"I plan on remaining active in the music scene playing with EXHULT and other projects."
NEURAXIS has yet to announce a replacement for Thiel. In addition, the band is seeking a new drummer following the departure of
Tommy McKinnon.
